How to Make Smores Cupcakes
How to Make Smores Cupcakes
Turn your ordinary chocolate cupcakes into S'mores cupcakes. If you like S'mores, you'll love these cupcakes. S'mores cupcakes are chocolate cupcakes frosted with marshmallow creme or white frosting, sprinkled with crushed graham crackers and then topped with a piece of graham cracker and Hershey's chocolate candy bar. You could also decorate them with mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips and then drizzle melted chocolate over the top. S'mores cupcakes are easy to make, fun to decorate and super delicious to eat.
How To Make S'mores Cupcakes
So delicious!
What you need to make S'mores cupcakes:
- 1 Box of chocolate cake mix
- Paper baking cups and muffin pan.
- White frosting or 1 jar of Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Creme
- 6-8 graham crackers, crushed
- 4-6 grahm crakers for decorating.
- 2 Hershey's chocolate candy bars for decorating
- Preheat the oven according to the directions on the cake mix package.
- Line a muffin pan with paper baking cups and set aside.
- Prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the package.
- Fill about 3/4 of the baking cups with the cake mix.
- Bake the cupcakes according to the directions on the package.
Make sure the cupcakes are completely cooled before you frost them. I used the Jet-Puffed Marshmallow creme to frost my cupcakes. However, after several hours it all melted off and the cupcakes were a mess. So, if you are not going to eat your cupcakes immediately after decorating them then I recommend using white cake frosting to frost the cupcakes with. If you do use the marshmallow creme, melt it in the microwave and let it cool a little bit before frosting the cupcakes.
After you frost the cupcakes, sprinkle them with crushed graham crackers. The best way to crush the graham crackers is to put them in a sealed plastic bag and gently smash them with a rolling pin or hammer.
After you sprinkle the cupcakes with graham crackers top them with a piece of graham cracker and a piece of the chocolate candy bar. Another alternative is to sprinkle the cupcakes with crushed pieces of the candy bar. You could also use mini chocolate chip pieces instead of the candy bar. I thought about putting a few mini marshmallows on top of the cupcakes too but I didn't have any on hand.
I drizzled a few of the cupcakes with some Hershey's syrup (as shown in the photo below). However, this too may have contributed to the marshmallow creme melting on the cupcakes, so I recommend drizzling some melted chocolate chips over the cupcakes instead of using Hersey's syrup.

This is the S'mores maker that I have. It makes S'mores perfectly! When I cook S'mores in the microwave on just a plate the graham cracker turns soft and the marshmallow puffs up and falls off. With this S'mores maker the marshmallow stays in place and the graham cracker stays crispy. It's easy to use and easy to clean.
