Chocolate Dipped Candy Cane Marshmallows

How to Make Chocolate Dipped Candy Cane Marshmallows

Chocolate Dipped Candy Cane Marshmallows
Winter is the perfect time to make some candy cane desserts. Chocolate dipped candy cane marshmallows are super easy to make and only require 3 ingredients, marshmallows, chocolate and candy canes. Chocolate dipped candy cane marshmallows are nice to serve after dinner or at a holiday party. Personally, I like to add them to my hot chocolate to make my drink minty and more chocolaty. This is an easy dessert recipe for the kids to make too.

Candy Canes

You can coat them partially or completely with melted chocolate.

Tips and Alternatives

Tips:
  • Dip the marshmallows in chocolate and cover them with crushed candy canes one at a time. If you dipped them all in chocolate first and then try to coat them with the crushed candy canes the chocolate will not be soft enough for the candy to stick.
  • Place them on waxed paper after you dip them in chocolate and sprinkle with crushed candy canes. If you put them on a plate instead, they will stick to the plate and you will have to use a knife to peel them off.
Alternatives:
  • If you don't want to coat the marshmallows in chocolate you can use powdered sugar (mixed with a little bit of water) to make a glaze that the crushed candy canes will stick to.
  • You can use peppermint candy, such as peppermint Starlights, instead of candy canes.
  • For some extra color, use green or multi-colored candy canes.
